Tree Planting at Hoffman Evergreen Preserve

April 25 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Planting season is again upon us and Avalonia’s efforts at the Hoffman Evergreen Preserve in Stonington continue!  This coming Monday April 25th from noon – 3:00 we will be planting more bare root seedlings at Hoffman as a part of the larger climate resiliency work underway there and would welcome any help you might be able to give.

Many of you will be familiar with the efforts there over the past several years. For those of you who aren’t, the following offer a quick intro to the ecological underpinnings:

Whatever your level of familiarity, please consider joining us this coming Monday afternoon.  Directions can be found here.  Feel free to bring you own shovel and gloves, but if that’s not possible, Avalonia will have a supply on hand.  Work will consist of hiking out to the planting locations and some shallow digging for planting bare root seedlings. Understanding that weekdays might be difficult for some, we plan to have a number of weekend sessions at Hoffman as well.
