Celebrating Three Land Trusts, One Shared Future
A new chapter in conservation began on Sunday, August 16, as friends, members, and supporters gathered in Oakdale to celebrate the merger of the Salem and Colchester Land Trusts with Avalonia Land Conservancy. The gathering marked more than an organizational milestone. It celebrated a shared commitment to protecting the forests, fields, waterways, and wildlife habitats that make southeastern Connecticut so special.
State Senator Cathy Osten joined Avalonia President Dennis Main in recognizing the significance of the merger and the strength that comes from three conservation communities joining together with one vision for the future.
