A Work Party at Paffard Woods Preserve

The Stonington Town Committee held a work party at the Paffard Woods Preserve on Thursday, August 6. We were fortunate to have an able-bodied team of 9 volunteers from the Mystic Aquarium, along with STC members Beth Sullivan, John Swenarton, and Mark & Susan Hibbard.

The team focused on cleaning up the parking area, clearing and widening street access, and creating new parking spaces. Earlier in the week, John Swenarton, along with Toby, Adam, and interns Kennedy, Amelia, and Dusk, were able to clear some trees, cut up logs, and eradicate a big patch of poison ivy (yeah!). It was a very productive effort and exceeded our expectations!
