Join Bruce Fellman at twilight on World Water Day for a vernal pool adventure at Babcock Ridge Preserve. Search for wood frogs and spring peepers, spotted and marbled salamanders, and fairy shrimp.

Our friends at @dpnaturectr are hosting a hike at the Atkinson Family Preserve/Thompson Brook Preserve. The event is free, but registration is required. Register at DPNC.org

Wednesday, March 22
6:30 pm - 8 pm

There are 175 species of birds that nest in Connec There are 175 species of birds that nest in Connecticut and many live within Avalonia's preserves.

If you are a birder, you should know about eBird. eBird is a free website and mobile app managed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It's a way for anyone to store birding observations, photos, and sound recordings to make them available to other enthusiasts, scientists, and conservationists.

Currently, there are 32 Avalonia Preserves cataloged as hotspots in eBird with more being added. You can search by county, preserve, and even get alerts for specific species.
