Lili Kane joins Avalonia as summer Land Stewardship Intern
Avalonia is pleased to welcome Lili Kane as our new summer Land Stewardship Intern. A Groton native, Lili is a rising senior at UConn with a major in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She brings with her a combination of field and academic experience that will make an immediate impact on our stewardship efforts.
Lili’s volunteer work includes the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History, Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, and UConn’s Spring Valley Student Farm. She has won several awards, including 1st honors, finalist designation, and 6 placing awards for her research project in the CT Science and Engineering Fair in 2021.
Her internship with Avalonia will include participation in long- and short-term stewardship projects, attendance at various meetings and outreach events, and getting to know the workings of land trusts through the lens of a day-to-day conservation practitioner. If you run into Lili on the trails, please welcome her.
