After many hours of site preparation, we’ve finally created a large enough opening to begin planting!

With nearly 50 Atlantic White Cedar (Chamaecyparis thyoides) seedlings ready to plant in the wet, peaty soil of the White Cedar Swamp/ Deans Mill Wildlife Corridor Preserve, not only will you be helping to restore a portion of this wooded wetland, this can also be a great opportunity to learn a bit about the ecology of this critical habitat type.  Funded in part by a grant from the Connecticut Association of Wetland Scientists.

No experience necessary.  Gloves and sturdy footwear recommended.  We will have extra shovels, gloves, and other tools. There is roadside parking between 265 Jerry Browne Road and the Aquarion Water Company.
