Celebrating Earth Day in Groton: Avalonia Connects with Community at Annual Expo
On Saturday, April 25, representatives from Avalonia joined dozens of local organizations and community members at the annual Earth Day Expo hosted at the Groton Public Library. The family-friendly event brought together more than 50 exhibitors, nonprofits, and vendors focused on sustainability, environmental education, and green living initiatives throughout the Groton community.
Visitors explored interactive exhibits, learned about eco-conscious practices, and connected with organizations working to create a cleaner and more sustainable future. Families enjoyed educational activities, conversations with local advocates, and opportunities to discover practical ways to reduce waste, conserve energy, and support environmental stewardship at home.

Avalonia representatives were proud to participate alongside fellow community organizations and regional partners helping to make a positive impact across southeastern Connecticut. Community participation appeared to include local civic groups, schools, environmental advocates, and municipal organizations connected to the Town and City of Groton.
Events like the Earth Day Expo continue to highlight the importance of collaboration and community engagement when it comes to protecting our planet. Avalonia was honored to be part of a day dedicated to education, sustainability, and connection, and we look forward to supporting future initiatives that encourage greener living and environmental awareness across the region.
