A Loss for the Avalonia Advisory Council

Connecticut State Representative Kevin Ryan, of the 139th House District, passed away on November 23, 2025.  An inaugural member of the Council, Kevin was a stalwart champion of the environment during the course of his over 30-year legislative career.

This past August, Kevin received the annual W. Paul White State and Regional Leadership Award from the Council of State Governments East. This award was surely an acknowledgement of how beloved Kevin was by people across the political spectrum for his knowledge, commitment, approachability, and willingness to always, always show up.

Kevin’s many contributions will be memorialized at the upcoming Avalonia members meeting on December 7.
