A heart-felt Thank You as National Volunteer Month comes to a close!
Over the past month both new and seasoned volunteers have generously donated their time, energy, and expertise to assist Avalonia in its mission to preserve natural habitats in southeastern Connecticut by acquiring and protecting lands, and communicating the value of these irreplaceable resources. This volunteer help has come in many forms including programming, outreach, stewardship, administration, mapping, etc. Whether it be “front of house” or “behind the scenes” work, it is the life blood of Avalonia. Our staff and Board of Directors (themselves volunteers!) would like to express their collective appreciation for all your efforts. Between Discover Avalonia events, Earth Day, and other individual and continuing volunteer endeavors, more than 100 community members came together to assist in projects across multiple preserves throughout April. A resounding success by any measure!
For those of you who engaged with Avalonia for the first time we hope your experience was meaningful and that you’ll consider joining us again as the seasons unfold!
