Recap of Recent Glemboski-Ous Stewardship Event and Trail Walk
Fifteen participants from a half dozen different towns were out early Sunday morning, October 27, 2024 at the newest Avalonia acquisition, Glemboski-Ous Preserve at South Road on the Bozrah-Montville Town lines. At 159.42 acres, the Preserve has nearly 2 miles of fairly well cleared logging trails at this point and the team walked the entirety of those, clearing any deadfalls, removing some invasives, and then focused on the power line corridor twin crossings.
A lower path was cleared across the power lines connecting the woods trails on either side, removing invasives and brush stump “toe catchers” as well left from past routine power line maintenance activities. An upper cleared walking path across the power lines now leads to the Nature Conservancy’s 343-acre Milo Light , connecting up with its trail complex. The pond area with obvious recent beaver activity was visited as well as the cleared easement entrance used for maintenance access.
A huge “Thank You” to all who joined in!
